While standard repairs are completed within a week.

Ask your consultant about our Express Same Day Service for a faster repair.

     Stone Replacement

If your precious stones or diamonds have been lost or damaged, Spencer and Kuehn Fine Jewelry Studio can take care of it for you. Most of these replacements are done on-site, and a stone setter on standby. If the gem you are looking for is more unique, our shop has an abundant number of resources from which we can acquire the perfect replacement. In some instances, we may have a stone custom-cut and fitted to your jewelry. Our jewelers will always check on the integrity of the prongs, channels, or any other metal holding your stones in place.

     Jewelry Restoration

Jewelry Restoration is for items that need more than that of routine repair. While Spencer and Kuehn Fine Jewelry Studio artisans can re-make almost any style from scratch, some antique and precious heirlooms are so sentimental that you may consider completely restoring them to their original state. This challenging and rewarding task is performed in-house by one of our master jewelers.

     Jewelry Maintenance

Visit Spencer and Kuehn Fine Jewelry Studio artisans for a free jewelry inspection and cleaning. Performing regular check-ups will help to ensure your jewelry is safe to wear. A consultant will check all your stones and prongs are secure before cleaning. If you would like them to inspect your items further, they will notify you of potential dangers to watch out for or future repairs to consider. This preventative measure is recommended every 6 months to a year if possible, to help keep stones from falling out, clasps from loosening, and much more.

WHY REPAIR WITH SPENCER & KUEHN?

If your piece is of great value and sentiment to you, don’t you want to know to whom or where your property is going? The jewelry industry has changed a great deal in recent years and few jewelers actually do their own work. Instead, they will send it out (sometimes even out of state) for someone else to do. Make sure your ‘jeweler’ can work on fine pieces, not just sell them.

As the ONLY full service jewelry store, we offer in-house, on-site customized jewelry repairs.

We Are Different - Embrace Unique

Because Spencer and Kuehn crafts every piece of jewelry right here in the open workshop, you can be assured your jewelry will be repaired on site – and you can talk about the jewelry piece directly with the jeweler who will fix it.

What it will cost to fix your jewelry shouldn’t be a mystery.

As an experienced and reputable jeweler, we will be able to quote a firm estimate and stick to that number from beginning to end. In addition, you can ask your us to provide you with clear before and after pictures to demonstrate all the work done and offer a guarantee to its quality.

Spencer and Kuehn Fine Jewelry Studios’ repair specialists give one specific estimate for repairs, and we stick to it. Additionally, we offer professional imagery of before and after of the piece upon request. Perhaps most importantly, we offer a one-year guarantee on the work done, full stop.

How do you know if a jeweler is trustworthy?

Well, a jeweler should have the experience to work on anything from a class ring to an heirloom estate piece. They should be open to having you present in the store while replacing a gemstone. Perhaps most importantly, they shouldn’t sell you on fixes you don’t need or warranties you shouldn’t have to pay for.

Spencer and Kuehn Fine Jewelry Studio is a place for artists and craftsmen, not salespeople. We collectively have over 80 years of jewelry experience all in the same workshop, so just about any challenge is met with confidence. We think we’re one of the best – and most trustworthy – places to bring in a jewelry repair, and we look forward to working with you!

A unique combination of old-world craftsmanship combined with state-of-the-art technology makes it possible for our team to execute traditional jewelry repair, laser jewelry repair, and antique jewelry restoration.  Our talented team of bench jewelers, master goldsmith, and GIA gemologist will convince you with all of their experience as our shop, procedures, and facility contains the most advanced jewelry design making techniques – as it should.

Our trusted team of jewelers and artisans at Spencer and Kuehn Fine Jewelry Studio have developed a reputation of excellence, since John Kuehn opened his doors in 1976, and our doors with Katherine Spencer in 2018.

All jewelry repairs are done in-house by skilled artisans under the direction of the founders and owners of Spencer and Kuehn Fine Jewelry Studio. With most of our staff having between 10 to 40 years of individual experience, you can be confident that your jewelry is in good hands.

PROLONG THE LIFE OF YOUR JEWELRY

From jewelry prongs to chain link repair, Spencer and Kuehn can fix anything you need!

The links that make up a gold chain are in constant motion, wearing against one another, and making it susceptible to breakage which could lead to the loss of your pendant. Chains, along with bracelets and pins, also have jewelry clasps, which are often lost or damaged over time and need repair or replacement.

The most common jewelry repairs are related to worn parts or prongs. In many cases a simple prong repair can avoid having to completely replace an engagement center stone, or the loss of additional sentimental materials. Another common service need is chain repair.

HOW DOES JEWELRY FATIGUE?

The one thing that can be concluded is that precious metal will fatigue or erode over time. “Erosion” takes place when precious metals rub against equal or harder surfaces. Constant contact with counter tops, stone, or even other jewelry will slowly wear away gold or platinum settings, weakening hinges, links, joints, prongs and clasps.

“Metal fatigue” takes place when sterling silver, gold, and platinum is stressed by constant knocking or bending. The impact of hitting a ring on a doorknob, or the constant depression of your bracelets spring clasp or latch, slowly contributes to fatigue.

Once metal fatigue or erosion occurs, latches, clasps, prongs and links are prone to breaking, and our jewelry experts will prescribe the recommended procedures necessary to repair such damaged items.

Each customer and fine jewelry repair or creation has a unique situation to be dealt with – and we embrace unique!  With decades years of experience repairing jewelry, Spencer and Kuehn’s Fine Jewelry Studio can repair any jewelry item under the sun.
